Sports pundit Gary Neville had predicted the outcome of Liverpool’s Carabao Cup semi-final second-leg encounter with Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur. The Reds got into the second-leg of the encounter against the Lily Whites trailing after falling to a 1-0 defeat in the first-leg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last month.

Sports pundit Gary Neville had predicted the outcome of Liverpool’s Carabao Cup semi-final second-leg encounter with Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur.

The Reds got into the second-leg of the encounter against the Lily Whites trailing after falling to a 1-0 defeat in the first-leg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last month.

This was a crucial match for both sides, but it seemed there is more at stake for the North Londoners.

Tottenham are having a dreadful campaign domestically and currently sit 14th in the Premier League table, and the EFL Cup [Carabao] may be one of few hopes of salvaging their season.

Liverpool, in stark contrast, are having a great season, having suffered just 3 losses all season, with one of them coming in the first leg earlier in the year.

The club from Merseyside have their sights set on securing the Premier League title this season and are one of the favourites to go all the way and win the UEFA Champions League after finishing top of the league phase with 21 points [seven wins] from eight matches.

Gary Neville: Prediction for Liverpool vs Tottenham revealed!

Speaking on It’s Called Soccer, Gary Neville predicted that the fixture between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur would end in a draw, a result which would enable Spurs to reach the final of the Carabao Cup and go on to play the final at Wembley Stadium.

The former England international defender gave foresight of an emotional and chaotic night at Anfield, with Tottenham securing a draw against Liverpool in the second-leg of their Carabao Cup clash.

Despite Slot’s men being the favourites for the encounter, Neville believed Spurs could find a way through to the final of the cup competition.

He even suggested that the London-based club could go on to lift the Carabao Cup this term, emphasizing that moments like the current one faced by them, are crucial for their potential success.

When asked who he tipped to score, Neville went for new lad Mathys Tel, who joined the club on deadline day on loan from German table toppers, Bayern Munich.

However, all the speculations went in vain as the Reds thrashed Spurs on their home turf 4-0 courtesy of Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai and Virgil van Dijk’s goals.

Liverpool will face Newcastle United in the final at Wembley, after Eddie Howe’s men secured a second successive 2-0 win over Arsenal in the second-leg of their semi-final encounter, clinching the tie 4-0 on aggregate.
