As the Red Sox failed to make the playoffs for the third straight year Fenway Sports Group (FSG) has come under fire in Boston.

Fans have been disappointed by FSG’s performance with the Red Sox despite the fact that they are leading in the Premier League with Liverpool under Arne Slot.

John W Henry, despite being the teams principal owner and serving on Major League Baseball committees, Henry is accused of not giving the team enough thought.

FSG slammed for Red Sox defeats

Red Sox support has decreased in recent seasons despite FSGs four World Series victories since 2002.

Sam Kennedy president of the Red Sox responded by highlighting Henry’s ongoing love for the team and his regular participation in talks about its future.

Speaking to MassLive’s Fenway Rundown with Chris Cotillo, FSG CEO and Red Sox president said,

I would say that I spoke with John in the past couple of hours about the 2024-25 Red Sox. We speak just about every day. He speaks to[Craig Breslow] just about every day.

There is this perception of John, largely driven by people who aren’t dealing with him, who don’t talk to him regularly, that maybe, somehow, he’s not actively involved.

I can assure you, he’s on the most important committees in Major League Baseball. He’s leading our franchise as our principal owner.

He does give us a lot of rope in management, in me as CEO, Bres (Craig Breslow) as CBO, but he is incredibly involved and is as passionate about the team as he’s ever has been.”

Kennedy despite being frustrated with recent seasons talked about the foundation that is in place for future success and expressed optimism about the teams direction under Craig Breslow.

There is no plans that involves in selling the Red Sox or Liverpool, FSG are still committed to growth and intends to pursue new business opportunities such as the possible acquisition of an NBA team in Las Vegas.
