Thuram ‘likes’ post related to Mac Allister’s imminent Liverpool transfer
However, Klopp seems to sign more players in their transfer list, especially midfielders. Besides, the club is now seriously targeting the young, French midfield duo, Kone and Thuram.
Moreover, at age 22, Thuram has attracted the attention of a lot of clubs from Europe. This comes after an impressive season with Ligue 1 club, Nice. He made 48 appearances in all competitions while scoring twice and assisting 4 times.
Meanwhile, the midfielder has fuelled speculation he could be on his way to Liverpool this summer. Especially, after the player ‘liked’ a post on Instagram about Mac Allister’s deal to join the Reds.
The post, published by 433, showed a picture of Mac Allister celebrating in a Liverpool shirt.
As per L’Equipe, Liverpool are preparing an offer for Thuram, with Nice willing to let him go if their asking price of €40m (£34.5m) is met.
The Frenchman, however, has publicly played down a move away from the French club this summer. The 22-year-old told in an interview that he is very well in Nice.
“I want to progress, go on the field, have fun. For now, I’m in Nice. It’s going very well. I really like the club, so I still see myself in Nice. I am very well in Nice.
There are noises, I hear, but I’m happy in Nice. I hope to grow with this club. I would like [caretaker manager Didier] Digard to stay because he brought a lot to this group when it was in a difficult period.
I don’t know if I tell him enough but he’s someone I can never thank enough. He helped me a lot in difficult times in my young career.
We worked a lot together. I wish him only happiness, in Nice, or elsewhere.”
