Arthur might get his first Premier League start for Liverpool in the ultimate game of the season after joining the Reds the previous summer on a loan deal.

The Juventus midfielder joined the Merseyside giants on a one-year loan deal for a fee of €4.5M on €110K of weekly wages, in hopes that the signing could’ve strengthened the midfield for the foreseeable future.

Since joining, Arthur has missed almost every game for the Reds due to injury. He has played with the senior team on only one occasion, earlier this season in a Champions League clash with Napoli that ended 4-1 in favour of this season’s Serie-A champions where he replaced Harvey Elliot in the 77th minute.

Apart from that, he has only been featured in Liverpool’s U-21 team where he made only 3 appearances. Thus, the fans are not much happy with the midfielder.

Arthur could get his much-awaited start for Liverpool

Liverpool have had a not-so-good season according to their standards. After having a great season last year, this year they have been knocked out of the Champions League by former champions Real Madrid in the Round of 16.

The Merseysiders have also been knocked out of FA Cup by Brighton and EFL Cup by Manchester City respectively.

In Premier League at this moment the Reds stand 5th with 66 points behind Manchester United. The Red Devils are 4th with 69 points with two games remaining.

After the draw against Aston Villa last weekend, Liverpool’s hopes of finishing in the top 4 and qualifying for UCL are closer to none.

Thus, it’s almost certain that the Reds will have to compete in the UEFA Europa League next season.

According to Liverpool Echo, the Brazilian could get a start for Liverpool against the Saints in the ultimate game of the PL this season.

While deemed as a ‘disastrous signing’ for the Anfield side, this could be a chance for Arthur to redeem himself and showcase his worth to the Kopites.
