Federico Chiesa out at Liverpool – guess who’s stealing his spot

Federico Chiesa missed Liverpool’s trip to Leicester, raising fresh questions about his future under Arne Slot.

Chiesa has played very few minutes on the turf in the Premier League this season. Despite poor form from Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez, Slot again overlooked Chiesa.

Luis Diaz started up front, but he struggled to convert chances. Jota replaced him and missed several opportunities, continuing his poor form. Chiesa’s exclusion signals that Slot doesn’t trust the Italian, despite his pedigree.

Slot insists Federico Chiesa is a backup for Mohamed Salah, not a central option. Fans are puzzled. Chiesa didn’t have a fair chance, and his £12 million transfer could soon look like a missed opportunity.

Chiesa might leave Anfield this summer, similar to Jari Litmanen’s short Liverpool spell. Liverpool’s forward line is likely to change drastically in the coming months. Only Salah and Cody Gakpo seem safe from summer exits.

Diaz and Jota may leave if the right offers arrive. Darwin Nunez is likely to be sold, as per Liverpool.com. Slot seems ready to rebuild his attack with younger, sharper players.

Several names are linked, including Julian Alvarez and Alexander Isak. Isak looks ideal, but likely costs too much and won’t be sold.

Ekitike appears overpriced and underwhelming despite his potential. Alvarez emerges as a realistic, effective option for Liverpool’s new No.9 role.

He is proven, versatile, and continues developing under top-level coaching. Alvarez has 26 goals and five assists this season across all competitions. He contributes defensively, pressing high and winning possession often.

His experience under Guardiola and Simeone strengthens his appeal. Though expensive, Alvarez may offer better value than other targets.

Slot wants forwards who fit his style and perform consistently. A new frontline could unlock the next chapter of Liverpool’s dominance.
