English media is heaping praises upon Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones after his performance for England against Ireland on Sunday.
Most of the Merseyside squad has been out on international duty representing their respective national sides.
The Reds squad is one of the strongest sides in the PL and in Europe, boasting many international stars.
Caoimhin Kelleher, Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Conor Bradley, Kostas Tsimikas, Andy Robertson, Curtis Jones, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch, Wataru Endo, Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah and Ben Doak have been representing their nations in this international break.
However, one particular player is making headlines for his recent performance.

English media lauds Curtis Jones
The 23-year-old Liverpool midfielder played a pivotal role in England’s 5-0 victory against Ireland in UEFA Nations League – League B – Group 2 on Sunday.
Starting out as a pivot alongside Conor Gallagher in a 4-2-3-1 formation. In the match previous to this one, he had scored a goal to secure a starting position in this game.
When he came off at the 79th minute, the Merseyside prodigy had completed 95.9% of his passes, one clearance and one shot at the goal (stats via Whoscored).
The Express rated his performance 7 out of 10, commenting,
“One of the standouts from England’s November international break, Curtis Jones has certainly sent Tuchel a message with his performances against both Greece and Ireland.
So often does the Liverpool man do the simple things right, it’s easy for him to go overlooked when compared to the other big names in the side. But given England’s travails in midfield at the summer’s European Championship, Jones could find plenty of success in the team going forward.”
Metro gave Jones 6 out of 10 and wrote,
“Always industrious and neat, but couldn’t really have much influence or impact on the game. Didn’t have much to do defensively and largely just had to give it to the more creative players.”
The London Evening Standard rated the midfielder 7 out of 10 and noted,
“Has played so well over these two games – his first two for his country. Kept things ticking over in midfield.”
The LFC player is continuously showing his talent both domestically and internationally. These performances can be his bold claim to secure a starting spot at the national team under Thomas Tuchel.
