Liverpool are close to completing the transfer of Darwin Nunez, who will reportedly miss Uruguay’s international duty to complete the deal. Also, it’s been reported that Sadio Mane deal is very like to be closed really soon.

Darwin Nunez to Liverpool is almost done

With the transfer window open and in full swing, all eyes are on Liverpool and their acquisition of Benfica attacker Darwin Nunez.

The forward was about to move to Manchester United. But he told his club that he only wants to play Champions League games for Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp’s leadership.

Sadio Mane is on the verge of leaving Liverpool. But with them previously rejecting two bids for the Senegal international, it’s to be seen what is going to happen.

According to Uruguayan journalist Diego Jokas, Nunez will miss Uruguay’s match against Panama tonight. He will miss the match in order to fly to England and finalize a transfer from Benfica to Liverpool.

He reported:

Darwin Nunez would not be in Uruguay tomorrow and the intention is that he will travel in the next few hours to be able to sign with LFC for 80 million Euros plus 20 in bonuses.

The clubs haven’t agreed on the transfer fee. But Liverpool are hoping to land the player at Anfield.

The Reds will not make a move at any cost. They know about Benfica’s asking price of €100 million (£85.5 million). However, the Portuguese club will be receptive to a structured deal including an initial €80 million (£68.4 million) fixed fee and €20 million (£17.1 million) in add-ons.

Nunez’s goal record in Portugal implies he has the potential to be the next great Liverpool attacker, following in the footsteps of past South American greats such as Luis Suarez and Luis Diaz.

Mane’s Departure

Nunez’s arrival to Liverpool is relative to Mane’s future. The Reds want to sign the 22-year-old as a replacement for Mane. But they are hesitant to do so until they have assurances on the Senegalese star’s move.

Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg wrote on Twitter:

Bayern spoke to him and he had a positive phone call with Nagelsmann. Mané made clear that he wants to join #FCBayern! Bayern was impressed that Mané doesn’t have airs & graces. He made clear that he would do his best in every position. He should become a massive leading figure in the team. Bosses hope that players like Coman and Sané can get to another level alongside him. Negotiations are positive and ongoing. An agreement is very likely

No matter what happens, Liverpool will have a world-class attacking unit up-front.
