After today’s win at the Molineux Stadium, Slot’s squad has made the fans happy but, there was a slight turnoff. In the Liverpool vs Wolves match, Darwin Nunez missed out the opportunity to represent his team in the clash.
The LFC Boss made this slight change in the lineup and brought forward the Portuguese Forward in the team. Fans are wondering about the reason behind the Uruguayan’s surprising absence from the bench.
Darwin Nunez was not present in Liverpool vs Wolves
Throughout the exceedingly crowded roster ahead, Slot is doing his best to develop new strategies for the wins. For most of the games, he is keeping his offensive side to the hands of key players.
But today, in the Liverpool vs Wolves clash, fans could not spot Nunez anywhere in the lineup at all. His position got replaced by Diogo Jota and Slot had to omit this striker entirely, including the bench. The 25-year-old was already showing promising signs under the Dutchman’s rule in Liverpool. He played for 90 minutes in the West Ham match.
As per official reports by Anfield on X, Nunez missed out the Liverpool vs Wolves match due to an illness. This is the first time the Uruguayan Forward has missed any match since the 3-0 win over Southampton in last FA Cup. The No. 9 even had a brilliant goal against Bournemouth in the 37th minute of the PL match.
However, there was another angle to this. Since Nunez was not playing in the Liverpool vs Wolves match, a popular midfielder got a chance to showcase himself. Wataru Endo seems to have gained some profit with his teammate’s sudden absence. Still, some fans are thinking that Darwin scoring just once in 6 matches has something to do with his absence.
