Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez was involved in an ugly fight with drunk Colombian fans who attacked his family.
Post the semi-final, social media users expressed outrage at the Uruguayan players involved in the fight.
Darwin Nunez Set To Face Ban After Brawl With Fans
Jefferson Lerma’s header Knocked Uruguay out of the Copa America semi-final, Uruguay will now face Canada for third place.
After the game, Darwin Nunez and some of his teammates engaged in an ugly brawl with Colombian fans who attacked their families.
Nunez was seen jumping the stands and throwing punches at the Colombian fans who were accused of being drunk. Nunez comforted his baby daughter along with his wife after that incident.
The Liverpool star could be facing a ban after the incident with the fans at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Defender Jose Maria Gimenez after the incident :
“It was a disaster – there was no police and we had to defend our families.”
In a similar incident in an FA Cup clash between Spurs and Norwich, the FA gave Eric Dier a four-match ban and fined him 40,000 euros.
At the moment it is unclear whether the ban will affect Liverpool. James Pearce on the incident :

Will be reaching out to Darwin Nunez when time difference allows.
Priority is checking on his and his family’s welfare. LFC will also be in contact with Uruguay federation.”
