Liverpool are doing great this season both in the Premier League and Champions League, thanks to the brilliant performance of the whole team. However, one player who is out of this show due to a lack of sufficient playing time is Darwin Nunez. There were lots of speculations going on about the possibility of the transfer of Nunez in the January transfer window. But ultimately Nunez stays in the Liverpool squad for the time being.
Darwin Nunez is struggling in front of the goal this season
Darwin Nunez started only seven matches out of 18 appearances in the Premier League this season.
Overall the Uruguayan striker made 30 appearances for the Reds this season across all competitions.
The Liverpool number nine is also struggling in front of the goal as Nunez only scored six goals and four assists within those 30 appearances.
Liverpool boss Arne Slot is using Nunez more as a sub-player than a starter.

Darwin Nunez also found it hard to get a place in the starting lineup due to the brilliant performances of Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, and Mo Salah in the front for the Reds.
So, there are lots of rumours going on about the future of Darwin Nunez with Liverpool.
In the summer transfer window last year, there were lots of talks going on about the future of Nunez as Arsenal were showing interest in the Uruguayan striker.
But that was long gone as Nunez ended up staying in Merseyside.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot recently excluded Darwin Nunez from the squad for the match against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League last week.
Last month Saudi side Al-Nassr approached Liverpool as they wanted to sign Nunez.
However, the Reds clearly stated that they have no intention of selling their 25-year-old striker. Al-Nassr ended up singing John Duran from Aston Villa.
Well, the transfer window is closed for now. As for now, Darwin Nunez is a Liverpool player.
