After months of speculation, Liverpool have agreed on Dutch sensation Cody Gakpo from Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven.

It was a tough race between Liverpool and Manchester United but the Merseyside giants have managed to sign the Dutch star. Fabrizio Romano recently revealed this news, furthermore, it will be a 6-year deal. The fees will be around 40 to 50 million Euros.

Gakpo is a talented young star and is in demand all around Europe. The 23-year-old forward has delivered some incredible performances for PSV. Furthermore, his excellent World Cup performance caught everyone’s eye. He scored 3 goals in 5 matches.

Cody Gakpo appreciates Liverpool via Van Dijk’s post

Feels like the Dutch forward is already excited about his move to the Reds. He commented on Van Dijk’s post praising them after their incredible 3-1 Boxing Day victory against Aston Villa. This comment came soon after the news was confirmed about the forward moving to the Reds. Fans seemed pretty excited seeing this.

The match was amazing and Van Dijk performed amazingly. The center-back was incredible back at the defense and also scored a goal to seal the game for his team.

Dutchman can be a key factor in Liverpool’s rise

The transfer window is not officially open yet. However, Liverpool wants to make no mistake and make sure no other team steals the players they have eyes on.

Liverpool are not up to mark this season. One of the major factors for this is their attack. Their expensive purchase earlier this season, Darwin Nunez, hasn’t been performing like he was expected to. The Uruguayan forward is being trolled for his poor performances in important games.

Since, Liverpool’s forwards like Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, and Roberto Firmino are injured, Klopp can’t rely on Nunez. Gakpo might bring back the missing part. He might help Klopp and his men to rise again and finish in the top 4 in the league.
