The Borussia Dortmund star midfielder Jude Bellingham is reportedly being offered a 150% pay rise to extend his contract for another year.

The 19-year-old Englishman is one of the leading midfield names in Europe.

The Premier League ensemble of Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea along with the Spanish Giants Real Madrid are all very keen to sign the Dortmund wonderkid.

Although, recent reports claim that Los Blancos are no longer interested in the English midfielder. The Spanish side have decided to pull out of the deal and focus elsewhere.

The defending Premier League champions Manchester City appear to be the front runners in grabbing the midfielder’s signature.

Borussia Dortmund desperate to extend Bellingham’s tenure at the club

According to Bild, Dortmund have a ‘secret plan’ in place to keep Bellingham at the club. This includes the club offering the youngster a whopping 150% salary increase worth up to £13m per year.

If Bellingham agrees to the above contract, he would become the highest-paid player in the German club’s history. The new contract will also involve a huge release clause of £131m.

BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl has made his intent clear on keeping the Ex-Birmingham City player for as long as possible.

“Of course we’re trying to keep Jude Bellingham at Borussia Dortmund as long as possible,”

Kehl told Ruhr Nachrichten.

“He’s an incredibly important player who has shown once again this season how he identifies with this club and makes the team better.

Things develop due to market mechanisms. So of course, I have my thoughts and also have my wishful thinking. I can’t say whether [Bellingham staying] will happen in the end.

From Borussia Dortmund’s point of view, the wishful thinking would be to keep a player of this quality at this club for as long as possible.”
