Breaking: Liverpool submits fresh bid for La Liga star: Arne Slots first signing on his way?
Liverpool are making serious moves in the transfer market as they close in on Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia.
The Anfield club has reportedly submitted a formal offer of €35 million, edging closer to Valencia’s asking price.
Reports suggest that Mamardashvili is eager to join Liverpool, and the Reds seem equally keen to get the deal done.
After the disappointment of missing out on Martin Zubimendi, Liverpool have turned their focus to strengthening their goalkeeping options, and Mamardashvili is now their top target.
Liverpool have been in discussions with Valencia for some time, aware that the Spanish side was seeking between €35 million and €40 million for the Georgian international. With their latest offer, Liverpool are just about meeting that price range, and a decision is expected in the coming hours.
If the deal goes through, it would mark a significant addition to Liverpool’s squad, but do the Reds really need a goalkeeper. Is this a sign that we are going to sell Caoimhin Kelleher this summer.
Stay tuned for further updates as this story develops.
