At crucial points in their 3-0 loss at Anfield Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola conceded that Liverpool was better.
After the Reds had taken a commanding lead in the first half thanks to goals from Luis Diaz early in the game and Darwin Nunez’s incredible finish, he acknowledged that his team found it difficult to convert on their opportunities.

The Cherries manager Iraola said through BBC sport,
“I think they [Liverpool] were better when it mattered when the game is on the line.
We had a disallowed goal, and other chances and when the game was very open they made the difference when it clearly mattered.
The start wasn’t very different but the things you do after 3-0 are not very valuable.”
Iraola noted the significance of taking advantage of opportunities, particularly when playing elite opponents like Liverpool after considering the dynamics of the game.
He emphasized the challenge of accepting such setbacks by saying We need to improve certain things and what you do in the boxes makes a difference.
When asked in the post-match conference how Arne Slot’s Liverpool differed from Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, Iraola said,
“You see the stats of the game, it was quite level but they were better when it mattered. That is what big teams have; when the game is on the line, they finish much better than us.”
Iraola compared Slot’s Liverpool to Klopp’s previous team and noted that the team’s speed and transitional efficiency make them dangerous and he praised their ability to finish much better when the game is close.
