Diogo Jota proved himself again with a valuable goal on Saturday afternoon which ultimately led the Reds to win the match. However, celebrations quickly came down in the second half as Alisson Becker had to leave the grounds early due to a sudden injury.
Media outlets were quick to criticise the man as the ‘only goalkeeper who is injury prone’. Negative thoughts started to run around and soon after the match, the new LFC Boss came out with disappointing update.
Arne Slot confirms Alisson will be absent due to injury
Liverpool are always aiming to top the competitions ahead of them despite swimming amidst hectic schedules. And in this current scenario, the squad needs everyone to stay fit and ready for giving their best.
While the Reds were taking on Crystal Palace, we saw Alisson Becker taking an early leave due to injury. Vitezslav Jaros came in rescue as the Brazilian professional left the pitch at the 79th minute. From the reports, fans are afraid that the LFC Goalkeeper has pulled his hamstring while reaching out for the ball.
As Slot was talking on LFC TV, he admitted that Alisson facing an injury is bad news for the team. Furthermore, the head coach revealed that in the end, the incident is disappointing for Becker himself. The Goalkeeper is a key factor for Liverpool, and this is a huge blow to the team.
“It’s disappointing for him. But also for us that he’s injured.”
While talking about the incident, Slot also confirmed that this injury has ruled out Alisson from the upcoming match against Chelsea. It is still unclear to us how Becker will be back with the Reds, however, the coach has provided some positive insights regarding the situation.
“I don’t think that he will be able to play the Chelsea game, but hopefully soon after he will be back with us.”
