As we are right around the corner for the 2202 FIFA World Cup, England might be looking for a potential Harvey Elliott addition to the squad.

Harvey Elliott could have to wait anxiously for the World Cup as an England injury concern arises

Due to concerns about James Maddison’s health, Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott might receive a surprise call-up to the England World Cup roster.

Harvey Elliott of Liverpool, a midfielder, still has a chance to make his World Cup dreams come true because James Maddison of Leicester City is still dealing with a hamstring problem.

Maddison has missed the last two days of England’s training in Qatar and will now likely miss the Three Lions’ match against Iran on Monday.

As England attempt to win their second World Cup, Gareth Southgate has until Sunday to determine whether he wants to replace Maddison in the 26-man roster.

The right fit?

The 19-year-old Liverpool player has been a reliable performer for the Reds this season. He may be a player on Southgate’s radar if he is to replace the injured Maddison.

Despite the fact that Jurgen Klopp’s team has had a challenging season thus far, Elliott has added quality, enthusiasm, and work ethic to the Liverpool midfield. According to 90min, Southgate would prioritize Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse and Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek. However, Elliott may also be a candidate for the last spot.

It goes without saying, Elliott has been in phenomenal form this season. The young lad quickly adapted to the first-team’s way of playing. And ever since, he has been nothing but impactful in the field. Along with his on-field capabilities, the lad is full of optimism and a team player indeed. Jurgen Klopp already has praised the English youngster many times. And he fully deserves it.

With his probable addition to the English squad, there is no doubt, he will bring the young blood’s firepower to Qatar. All the Scousers as well as the English fans will be looking forward to watching him play.
