Andy Robertson’s birthday ended in heartbreak again, but the Liverpool star has fired a bold warning ahead of the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle.
Andy Robertson believes Liverpool will recover from their Champions League exit. Arne Slot’s side lost 1-0 to Paris Saint-Germain at Anfield, falling short in a penalty shootout.
Speaking to Amazon Prime, Robertson praised Liverpool’s performance. “We won last week without playing well,” he said.
“Tonight, we played better but didn’t get the result.” He emphasized the team’s effort and determination.
“No complaints about the work rate. Two top teams battled, and penalties are always a lottery.” Liverpool dominated but failed to convert chances. They created six clear opportunities but failed to score.
“Last week, PSG wasted chances. Tonight, we did the same,” Robertson admitted. “We kept pushing but couldn’t find the goal.”

Despite the defeat, he found positives in the display. “Top of the group and got the hardest draw,” he added.
“PSG are world-class. If they keep this level, they will go far.”
Liverpool now turn their focus to domestic competitions. “We must move on. A cup final awaits, then a Premier League push.”
