Liverpool may face a major dilemma ahead of their match against Bournemouth, with Alisson Becker emerging as an injury doubt.
The Brazilian shot-stopper, who has been in great form this season, might miss out due to a muscle issue, according to manager Arne Slot.
Alisson muscle injury could sideline him for Bournemouth
Speaking in a press conference, Slot revealed,
“Alisson is still a doubt if he can train today. We have to wait and see. He has a slight issue with one of his muscles. We wonder if this game tomorrow is coming too early or not.”
The injury, which Alisson felt even before Liverpool’s midweek Champions League win against AC Milan, has caused some concern in the Reds’ camp. Slot added,
“He didn’t do it in the Milan game; he felt it before then, and it’s gotten worse.”
With Alisson having started all four of Liverpool’s Premier League games this season and keeping three clean sheets, his absence could be a real blow to Liverpool’s defense.
Slot also addressed the team’s busy schedule, stating that Liverpool’s packed calendar adds pressure to their squad. He mentioned that “we have to play at Christmas and New Year,” something new for him after managing in the Netherlands.
In other news, Darwin Nunez is still pushing for his first goal of the season. Slot expressed optimism, saying,
“He needs the same as all the others, work really hard and the goals will come.”
Liverpool fans will be hoping for good news on Alisson’s fitness as they prepare for Bournemouth.
