Details of the deal for Alexis Mac Allister to Liverpool have been reported by reliable media in native Argentina, including the fee, wages, and contract length.

The Argentine has been Klopp’s main target over a few weeks and it seems that he has gotten his man. The 24-year-old has impressed quite a few people with his performances at the World Cup and also with Brighton this season.

With Klopp planning for a midfield overhaul for the next season, Mac Allister was one of the main targets after Liverpool hit a dead end on the Jude Bellingham transfer.

Besides, players in the midfield position are set to leave the club this summer. The likes of Milner, Keita, and Oxlade-Chamberlain would not be renewing their contracts this summer.

Mac Allister ‘reportedly on a 5-year deal with Liverpool’

Mac Allister’s current contract with the Seagulls runs until the summer of 2025. However, it looks increasingly likely that he will be playing his football away from the Amex next season.

Reports from the Argentine newspaper La Nacion have indicated that the 24-year-old is set to command a fee of around £60 million and a weekly wage of £100,000 on a five-year deal.

The agreement would also include the option of a one-year extension. Also, it would make Mac Allister the fourth most expensive Argentine transfer of all time.

Mac Allister’s agent and father had claimed last month that the midfielder is “most likely” to leave Brighton this summer. Moreover, Liverpool’s interest became increasingly apparent in subsequent reports.

Chelsea and the new reported boss, Mauricio Pochettino were also reported to be among a few clubs interested in the player.

The Argentine looks to be the answer for Klopp’s midfield crisis that was evident this season. However, the German tactician needs more than one signing to be able to add depth in the midfield position.
