Liverpool will reportedly seal the signing of Alexis Mac Allister by next week after reports in Argentina backed up Fabrizio’s transfer claims.
Reports have almost confirmed the transfer of the World Cup winning midfielder, who has been linked to Liverpool for a long time now. As a part of his midfield overhaul, Klopp had been wanting to bring the Argentine to Anfield. Ever since their failed pursuit of Jude Bellingham, Mac Allister has been a top target for Klopp.
He could be a great addition to Klopp’s side who have badly missed a great goal-scoring midfielder. Ever since Coutinho’s departure, Liverpool haven’t seen goals being scored from midfield. Klopp needs such a transition and Mac Allister seems to be the player that could provide the same.
Moreover, he has provided goals and chances from the midfield for Brighton this season with 12 goals. Also, he scored once in the World Cup and had 1 assist while having an 89% pass completion rate.
Liverpool closing in on a £70m fee for Mac Allister
Recently, trusted journalist, Fabrizio confirmed that the 24-year-old had played his last game for Brighton against Aston Villa. Moreover, many reports have confirmed the transfer already saying that the player has ‘agreed personal terms‘ with Liverpool.
The fee is expected to be somewhere around £70m, which is not a small amount by any means. However, we could see why Klopp was keen on spending the big bucks on Mac Allister.
The Argentine had the season of his life as he won the World Cup in Qatar. Also, he was part of Brighton’s brilliant team who have now secured a Europa League spot along with Liverpool.
Reports have suggested that the Reds are close to agreeing to a £69.4m fee. And the 24-year-old has already ‘said his goodbyes’ to the AMEX after Brighton’s 1-1 draw with Man City on Wednesday night.
Player’s agent flies in to seal Liverpool’s transfer
Now it seems Liverpool’s prospects of securing the signing are gathering pace. And what has been described as a ‘full agreement’ for Mac Allister could be signed, sealed, and delivered by as early as next week with his agent due to arrive for talks.
The latest on the saga is provided by journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, of TyC Sports. Well-connected over the story and often first with updates on the saga, he claims the midfielder’s father and agent, Carlos, will fly into Merseyside next week to conclude the deal.
However, a fee with Brighton now agreed upon, they would discuss personal terms around his son’s transfer. Moreover, as per the journalist, Mac Allister will reportedly sign a five-year deal to 2028 worth £150,000 a week.
His move to Anfield will end a productive three-year spell on the south coast. Making 111 appearances, Mac Allister has scored 20 goals, weighing in with seven assists.
