Liverpool‘s star player Mo Salah has reportedly been making inquiries with former teammates about playing in Spain, according to French journalist Santi Aouna, indicating that he may be open to leaving Anfield.

The situation of Mo Salah at Liverpool

With Liverpool struggling to secure a top-four finish and the possibility of missing out on Champions League football next season, Salah’s future has been thrown into the spotlight.

However, the chances of a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona seem unlikely due to the high cost of the transfer fee and matching his massive salary at Liverpool.

Mo Salah to PSG

While Salah may be open to moving on, it is important to note that he signed the biggest contract in Liverpool history just last summer and is still under contract for two more years.

It is unlikely that the club would let him go without a massive transfer fee and a matching salary, which may not be feasible for the soon-to-be 31-year-old.

Furthermore, PSG is said to be monitoring the situation, but it is unclear whether they will make a move for him this summer.

Salah facing criticism due to his inconsistency

Two former Liverpool players, Jose Enrique, and John Aldridge, have suggested that the club may want to consider selling Salah this summer to reinvest in the team and plan for the future.

Aldridge even criticized Salah’s recent performance, saying that something seemed off about his body language and that he lacked passion on the pitch.

However, it is worth noting that Salah has been a key player for Liverpool and a fan favorite, and it remains to be seen whether the club will entertain the idea of selling him.

While Salah’s form has been inconsistent this season, there is still time for him to turn it around and help Liverpool secure Champions League football for next season.

Ultimately, if Liverpool wants to keep Salah, they will need to finish in the Premier League’s top four to offer him the chance to play in next season’s Champions League. Otherwise, he may be tempted to seek a new challenge elsewhere.

Whether Salah stays or goes, his legacy as a Liverpool legend is secure, but the question remains: will he seek a fresh challenge elsewhere or stay to fight for the club’s success?
