Liverpool have not called two returning players to be part of the squad for their UCL clash against Rangers.

After losing to Arsenal 3-2, the Reds lost three more players to injury. Luis Diaz, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Joel Matip will all be out for some time.

However, numerous players have missed the most. If not all, of Liverpool’s current season, have just lately begun training again.

One of them is Andy Robertson. His inclusion in the team for Wednesday’s game at Ibrox has been confirmed by Jurgen Klopp.

However, two other athletes who were seen at the AXA Training Center on Tuesday have not flown to Glasgow.

Last week, Curtis Jones began training again.

He has been out of Liverpool’s season thus far due to a calf issue. And the club is obviously still being cautious with his recuperation. He was not part of the squad that lost to Arsenal and will not play against Rangers.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain hasn’t been seen since suffering a catastrophic hamstring injury during Liverpool’s preseason tour of Asia. He was the other returning player who took part in the penultimate workout before the journey north of the border.

Although he is yet to play a game, he will be unable to participate in any of the Reds’ Champions League matches this year. He did not make the first roster for the group stages in September.

In his pre-Rangers press conference on Tuesday, Klopp said that neither player would be in the lineup. He maintained that the club would not rush players back into action due to the recent injury concerns in his team.

Klopp said:

“They only trained a couple of days. We can not now just put them in.

Robbo is in the squad for tomorrow. Curtis not, Ox not, Naby not. That’s it.

It’s important that the boys are coming back, but it’s not that they train twice and now ‘here we go.’”

Players out of the Liverpool squad in the Match against Rangers

Curtis Jones (not in the squad)
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (not in the squad)
Trent Alexander-Arnold (ankle)
Luis Diaz (knee)
Joel Matip (calf)
Calvin Ramsay (unknown)
Naby Keita (thigh)
Arthur (muscle)

Calvin Ramsay appears to have experienced an injury setback. And he was left off the team at the Emirates and the squad that trained on Tuesday. He is another player who won’t play at Ibrox.

Due to a bothersome back problem, the right-back has yet to kick a ball for the Reds in his short time on Merseyside. After the international break, he began working out with the team, but he now seems to be out again.

The other senior player still out is Arthur. He had a muscle injury prior to last week’s home game against the Rangers.

Stefan Bajcetic went to Glasgow with the first-team squad. This suggests that he won’t be playing for Klopp’s team on Wednesday in contrast to the under-19 UEFA Youth League match earlier in the day.
